Lori Butala has an MBA from the University of Minnesota and combines her love of natural beauty and landscaping with a passion for entrepreneurial business. Nature's Designs, her retail garden center and landscaping business located in a wooded knoll just outside of Hayward, Wisconsin has no sign and has not used advertising to build clientele. "Our growth has been riding on the success of our customers in having a landscape that makes them feel great when they get home or look great to their customers."
Lori and her staff create hundreds of custom pots and hanging baskets each spring with inventive combinations. They help retail customers break out of dull habits, try new color combinations and plant material. She was convinced by her business partner, Kathy Kisch to move into the winter pot arena, and there the fun started! They have been creating exciting winter pots for Hayward's downtown businesses, and have residential clients no longer dreading the first frost. The principles of Winter's Wow are the same as with Nature's Designs help the customer be successful at achieving their vision.
Kathy Kisch holds a horticulture degree from St. Mary's College in Winona, MN. An avid outdoor enthusiast and formerly professional landscaper for Southview Country Club in Inver Grove Heights, MN, Kathy has long enjoyed creating beautiful scenes for public enjoyment. While living in Minneapolis, Kathy had a business named "POTS" (Plants Of The Season), where she created pots for residential and commercial clients to address all four seasons. Winter arrangements were extremely popular for POTS customers, so upon joining Lori at Nature's Designs, Kathy convinced her of the importance of winter pots.
Many new designs and ingredients later, Kathy is now a business partner and is in charge of our harvesting and materials preservation work. Kathy is extremely excited about our beautifully preserved white cedar, princess pine, and celosia. Kathy is also in charge of our procurement activities, bringing to Winter's Wow the best in ingredients from growers throughout the United States and abroad. If you are looking for Kathy, you are better off looking outdoors than inside. Her talents for design and love of experimentation keep everything at Winter's Wow fresh and fun.
